monoprinting with St. Augustine students
We were so excited to have students from St. Augustine visit the Omaha Print Guild last week. They took a tour of Hot Shops, watched a glass blowing demonstration with Ed Fennel, and had lunch. With the help of Judy Haney, they worked on a series of monoprints and they look fantastic.

upcoming silkscreen workshop
Hot Shops Art Center
Studio 314 Ashley Rodriguez Reed
Intro to Screen Printing
Class Description:
Intro to screen printing will involve using hand made stencils and photo exposure to make original art. Demonstrations will be provided on how to register a print for multiple layers and techniques will be shown for creative effects. This class allows for ample print time to experiment with the medium and flexibility to use color. Information will be given and shown on how to plan a design and use a transparency to expose an image to the screen. This includes the steps from taking a sketch and translating it to the screen. I will go over how to coat the screen, set up the exposing system, and execute the print. Only water based inks and methods will be used.
Screen Printing Class Supplies
Screen: 26 (12"x18") dickblick.com -I recommend this size because it's medium. Bigger screens can be harder to manage in the sink.
